Linux in my Desktop

recently I installed Linux OS in my second partition. On the other partition Windows Vista is present. So I was searching for some Video and Audio players. I was able to find some of them after a search for more than 2 hours. I wasn’t that proficient in Linux so I have to work very hard to install the softwares and make them work. But the applications in Linux are very good. But the problem is that there are only a few applications for Linux.
